Chlamydia + Boys
How do you catch it?
It is spread through Vaginal, Anal or Oral sex or sharing sex toys if you don’t wash them or cover them with a new condom each time they are used.
How is it treated?
Chlamydia is easily treated with a short course of antibiotic tablets.
What would happen if it’s not treated?
In men Chlamydia can cause:
- Painful infection in the testicles
- Reduced fertility
- Reiters syndrome (reactive Arthritis)
How to do the urine sample (Males)
You must not have passed urine at least 1 hour before this test
- Urinate in the cup
- Then use the pipette to suck up your urine
- Squirt the urine into the tube between the black lines on the fill window
- DO NOT OVERFILL the tube.
- Tighten the cap securely on the tube; shake 3 – 4 times to ensure that the urine and liquid are mixed well.
- Put the rest of your urine down the toilet.
Results of your Test
You will receive the result of your Chlamydia test results in 10 days/two weeks.
